Mechanical Calibrating Machines – Model PCM
- Versatile, easy-to-use machine for compression and tension calibration of force instruments. Essentially two machines in this category, the PCM and the BCM. The Portable Calibration Machine (PCM) which has a maximum capacity of 2,000 lbf (10kN) , and the Benchtop Calibration Machine (BCM) which has a capacity of 10,000 lbf (50kN)
- Accuracy: The machine matches the accuracy of the reference standard. Most machines are aligned well enough that the maximum amount of side load is less than 0.0625 inches. On a shear web load cell this amounts to a possible error source of 0.003 %.
- CMC: Calibration and Measurement Capability is typically 0.02 % – 0.03 % or better.
